Set in the dark labyrinths of the police and yakuza worlds, the Ouroboros: Keisatsu o Sabaku wa Ware ni Ari (Ouroboros: I Have the Right to Judge the Police) series is preparing to return to the stage. The story follows the revenge journey of two orphans who witnessed the murder of their teacher at the orphanage where they took shelter as children, and whose lives changed when the police covered up the crime. While Ikuo becomes a successful detective rising through the ranks of the police force, Tatsuya transforms into a yakuza leader climbing to the top of the underworld. Their secret alliance, symbolized by the 'Ouroboros' tattoo, is considered one of Japan's most powerful crime and justice stories.
The series gained worldwide popularity, especially with the 2015 live-action series starring Toma Ikuta and Shun Oguri.
