Please Save My Earth Manga Gets Live-Action Series on Amazon Prime
The classic shōjo manga Please Save My Earth is coming to the screen as a live-action series. According to Anime News Network, the series adapted from Saki Hiwatari's manga will stream on Amazon Prime. Japanese actress and model Alice Hirose will star in the lead role. In the director's chair will be Takahiro Miki, known for his adaptations of Solanin and Ao Haru Ride. The targeted release date for the series is fall 2027.
Published in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine between 1986 and 1994, Please Save My Earth is one of the most important science fiction works of the shōjo genre with its 21-volume story. The manga won the Kodansha Manga Award in 1990. The story follows high school student Alice and her classmates, who see the memories of the alien scientist Mokuren, who served on the Moon, in their dreams, as they try to uncover the secrets of their past lives. In this respect, it uniquely blends romance, suspense, and science fiction.
The manga previously entered the anime world with a six-episode OVA adaptation in 1993. Now, thanks to Amazon Prime's global platform, it will reach a much wider audience.
