Pumpkin Night Manga Returns on August 19 After Hiatus Due to Health Issues
Good news for Pumpkin Night fans: The horror manga by Masaya Hokazono and Seima Taniguchi is resuming its serialization on August 19, 2026, after being put on hold in April 2025 due to health issues. According to Anime News Network, the return date has been officially confirmed.
The manga was being published in Champion RED magazine, and in an announcement made by the publisher in April 2025, it was stated that an indefinite hiatus was being taken to allow artist Taniguchi to recover his health. At the time, fans were deeply concerned, fearing the series might be left unfinished. Fortunately, both the team and the magazine have returned to the project following the recovery period.
Starting in 2015, Pumpkin Night tells the story of a young girl who seeks revenge after a traumatic event during her high school years. The series is particularly known for its masterful blend of gore and psychological thriller elements. While writer Hokazono's previous works include popular series like Jagaaaaaan, Taniguchi's sharp and detailed illustrations reinforce the dark atmosphere of Pumpkin Night.
