Radwimps Performs ‘Yūzutsu’ for ‘Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku’ Live-Action Film
The second trailer for the live-action film Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku has been released, and it was announced that the film's theme song is performed by Japanese rock band Radwimps. The group's new track “Yūzutsu” accompanies the visuals shown throughout the trailer. The production will be released in Japan on October 9, 2026.
Radwimps is known worldwide for the music they previously composed for Makoto Shinkai's films Kimi no Na wa., Weathering with You, and Suzume. In this project, they present a song that suits the film's emotional atmosphere. It is noted that “Yūzutsu” stands out with its arrangement reflecting the story's romantic and melancholic tone.
The film is based on the manga series of the same name by Yuki Obata, one of the strong names in the manga world. Obata is particularly known for a love story that has been adapted into both anime and live-action, such as Bokura ga Ita (We Were There). Nanji, Hoshi no Gotoku also stands out as a new production that brings her delicate character storytelling to the big screen.
Manga adaptations have long held an important place in Japanese cinema. The inclusion of a popular music group like Radwimps in the project shows that the film aims to reach not only manga readers but also a wide audience.
