New Manga from Real Girl Creator Mao Nanami: Adaptation of 'Tensei Hakushaku Lilina no Kekkon'
Mao Nanami, one of the beloved names in the romantic comedy genre, is preparing to meet readers with a new manga project. According to Anime News Network, Nanami will adapt Ryō Midorikawa's light novel Tensei Hakushaku Lilina no Kekkon into a manga. The new series will begin serialization in Japan on July 26.
Although no official publisher or translation announcement has been made yet, it appears that with this project, Nanami is stepping into the isekai and regency romance genres. The original novel tells the story of a young woman who is reincarnated into a noble family and attempts to save her family through marriage. This is a different path from Nanami's previous contemporary high school settings.
Nanami is known for Real Girl (3D Kanojo: Real Girl), which was published between 2014 and 2017 and received an anime adaptation in 2018. The series handled the developing relationship between an otaku high schooler and a popular girl with a sincere tone. The new manga aims to attract both old fans and new readers by combining Nanami's art style with a different era and genre.
Ryō Midorikawa's novel has not been adapted into any other media before, so this manga project serves as the first visual interpretation of the story.
