New Manga from Rekan! Creator Seto Hinako: 'Tsunagare! Kurodenwa-chan' Hits the Shelves

Seto Hinako, the talented mangaka behind beloved series like Rekan!, is here with a new work that excites her fans. The first tankobon volume of the author's latest work, Tsunagare! Kurodenwa-chan (Connect! Black Telephone Girl), was released in Japan on May 7th. This new manga combines Seto Hinako's signature warm and fantastic storytelling with a modern touch.
Tsunagare! Kurodenwa-chan tells the mysterious and comical cohabitation story that begins when an old black telephone in the home of ordinary office worker Kobayashi suddenly transforms into a small girl. The events revolving around the cheerful and lively Black Telephone Girl turn Kobayashi's life upside down, offering readers both a nostalgic and fantastic experience. This series was published as a four-panel manga in the "personification of Showa-era home appliances" genre in Manga Time Family and Manga Time magazines.
Seto Hinako is a mangaka known especially for her supernatural comedy and school life series, Rekan!. Published for many years from 2010 to 2025, Rekan! depicted the warm relationships of high school student Amami Hibiki, who can see ghosts, with both humans and spirits. The series was also adapted into a 13-episode anime by Pierrot+ studio in 2015 and received great acclaim.
