Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori Gets Its First Musical: Kaname Futaba to Star!

We have great news for Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori fans! The manga series, written by Yuu Shimizu and known for its heartwarming story, is getting its first musical adaptation. According to the official announcement, the musical performances will take place between October 16-25, 2026, at the CBGK Shibugeki!! theater in Tokyo. This step is seen as a new milestone crowning the series' popularity, which has been ongoing for over a decade.
In the lead role of the musical, as the elegant owner and manager of the teahouse Sui (Kyousui Togoku), we will see Kaname Futaba, a well-known name in the stage world and 2.5D musicals. The series, which has been serialized in Shinchosha's Go Go Bunch magazine since 2013, tells the story of four handsome experts working at a traditional Japanese teahouse called Rokuhoudou. Tea master Sui, latte art expert Gure, pastry chef Tsubaki, and the person in charge of food, Tokitaka, not only offer delicious treats but also sincerely help with their customers' personal troubles.
This new musical is not the series' first major success in the media world. Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori was previously adapted into a 12-episode anime series produced by Zexcs studio in 2018, and a 10-episode live-action drama starring Nozomu Kotaki that aired on TV Asahi in 2022. As one of the most beloved examples of the "iyashikei" (healing) genre, the work serves as a sanctuary for viewers looking to escape the stress of daily life.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see how the peaceful and aesthetic atmosphere of the teahouse will be transferred to the stage in this musical adaptation. Especially the performances of the characters in their iconic kimonos and the musical numbers to be added to the story have already created great excitement. While Kaname Futaba's interpretation of the Sui character is known, who will play the other three main characters remains a mystery. Details regarding ticket sales and the additional cast are expected to be shared in the coming months.
