Major Announcement from Seven Seas Entertainment: 6 New Manga and Light Novels Licensed for English Release

Seven Seas Entertainment, one of the leading Western publishers in the world of manga and light novels, continues to expand its library without slowing down. On April 8, 2026, the company announced through its traditional "Wonderful Wednesdays" event that it has acquired the English publishing rights for six new works across various genres. This new selection covers a wide range, from supernatural mysteries to fantasy worlds aimed at adults.
One of the most notable titles in the announcement is Nono's Phantom Shop (Nono no Obake-ya), written by Yog Akase. Inviting readers into a mysterious shop that sells items filled with fantasy and illusions, this manga features a structure that deepens with the story of each customer. On the other hand, under the publisher's Ghost Ship imprint, which caters to adult readers, the manga Building a Monster Girl Harem with Forbidden Science by Indoso and Yasuumi has also been licensed. Focusing on a biochemistry professor who is transported to a world ruled by monster girls, this series will hit shelves in February 2027.
For fans of romantic comedy and drama, the manga adaptation of Yu Omiya's popular story My Girlfriend Cheated on Me, and Now My Flirty Underclassman Won't Leave Me Alone was announced. Brought to life with illustrations by Yohei Kazawa, this work tells the story of a college student who was cheated on and how his life changes after meeting a cheerful underclassman before Christmas. The first volume of the series is scheduled for release in December 2026. Additionally, the isekai and mecha-blending light novel series Gear × Magic: Reincarnated as an Engineer, I'll Save the Villainous Princess will meet readers under the Airship imprint in January 2027.
This move by Seven Seas once again proves how high the demand for niche genre works is in the Western market. The company also added the digital-focused light novel The Faceless Mercenary Wants to Settle Down and the audiobook version of the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling series to its list. For fans, these announcements mean an opportunity to both expand their physical collections and access new-generation stories popular in Japan in their native language. Pre-order processes for these series are expected to begin in the coming months.
