New Volume and 1 Million Print Celebration for She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat (original title: Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna) has a big surprise for fans. The 6th volume of the series was published by KADOKAWA on June 15, after a two-year-four-month hiatus. With this new volume, the series' total print run has exceeded 1 million, and this achievement is being celebrated with special illustrations prepared by eight different manga artists.
This warm story, written and illustrated by author-artist Sakaomi Yuzaki, follows the friendship of a woman who loves to cook and a woman who loves to eat, and the delightful moments of daily life. First serialized in 2021 on KADOKAWA's Comic Walker platform, the series quickly gained a wide readership. The live-action drama produced by NHK in 2022 further increased interest among manga fans. The series has been praised both in Japan and internationally for its sincere portrayal of food and friendship themes.
As part of the 1 million print celebration, eight artists including Natsuko Taniguchi (Shirokuma Cafe), Mitsuru Hattori (Yotsuba&!), and other well-known illustrators created special drawings reinterpreting the series' characters in their own styles. These illustrations are being released on KADOKAWA's official website and social media accounts, and are also included in the printed book with the new volume. In a statement about the celebration, Yuzaki said, "I am very happy that readers have shown so much love. In volume 6, you will witness the characters' new culinary adventures."
Behind the series' popularity lies a strong friendship story that is not just about recipes, but also about how two women support each other. She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat. In Turkey, there is no official translation yet, but given the series' international popularity, a Turkish edition can be expected in the near future. We can't wait to see where the story goes with volume 6.
