Theme Songs and New Trailers Released for Sono Tensai-sama wa Gisou Kanojo ni Shuuchaku suru Series

Exciting new details have been shared for the television adaptation of the popular manga series Sono Tensai-sama wa Gisou Kanojo ni Shuuchaku suru (That Genius is Obsessed with His Fake Girlfriend). According to the official announcement, the opening theme song will be "Koi no Yukue", performed by the talented singer-songwriter Misaki. The closing theme will feature the track "Watashi no Shiawase wa Watashi ga Kimeru" by rapper #KTCHAN. Along with this announcement, two new 30-second trailers featuring snippets of both songs have been released.
The story of the series revolves around Rin Hoshino, a kind but unlucky young woman approaching her 30s. During a period of being unemployed and single, she begins helping with housework for Iku Wakatsuki, a genius programmer, through her brother's introduction. However, Iku is the very same "insensitive" man who shattered Rin's marriage dreams in the past. This relationship, which begins with a bad encounter, soon turns into a "fake dating contract" and Iku's unexpected obsessive love. The series stars Taiki Konno from the group B&ZAI (as Iku) and former Hinatazaka46 member Shiho Kato (as Rin).
The original manga, written by Chikafuji and illustrated by Inu Murayama, has achieved great commercial success, exceeding a total of 900,000 copies in digital and physical sales. Reaching a sales volume of 600 million yen, the series has a large fan base, especially among readers who enjoy "obsessive genius" and "fake relationship" themes. Published under the Live Comics label, the manga draws attention with its character depth and romantic tension. The director's chair for the series is occupied by names previously known for their success in youth dramas.
The series will premiere on April 23, 2026, during CBC TV's "Drama Trip" block. Fans are particularly curious about Taiki Konno taking on his first lead role in a series and his on-screen chemistry with Shiho Kato. The released trailers successfully reflect the manga's unique, intense romantic atmosphere and the possessive demeanor of the Iku character. Blending romantic comedy and drama genres, the production appears to be a candidate for one of the most talked-about J-Dramas of the spring season.
