Square Enix Manga & Books Announces 8 New Manga and 2 Final Fantasy Books

Square Enix Manga & Books officially announced eight new manga series and two Final Fantasy-themed books in a major move. In a special announcement dated July 2, 2026, these new works added to the publisher's print catalog mark the beginning of an exciting era for both manga fans and Final Fantasy enthusiasts.
Among the announced mangas, one of the most notable titles is My Classmate James. Although the series' plot has not been fully revealed, as the name suggests, a youth story focusing on school life is expected. Additionally, Final Fantasy XIV: Me and the Cornservant offers a comedic and possibly food-themed adventure set in the popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV universe. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny emerges as a book adaptation that will add a new dimension to the story of the highly acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth game from 2024.
Square Enix Manga & Books had previously successfully brought game universes to manga and book format with works such as Final Fantasy: Lost Stranger and The Legend of Final Fantasy X. This new wave once again demonstrates the publisher's emphasis on both original manga series and spin-offs of major game franchises. In particular, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Dear Destiny is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for those who want to read the game's emotional and complex story from a different perspective.
This announcement reveals how quickly Square Enix's manga and book division is growing. With the 'Manga First' initiative launched in 2025, the publisher aims to deliver more titles to Western readers each year. While no clear schedule has been given for the translation and printing processes of the new mangas and Final Fantasy books, fans can expect more details on these titles in the coming months. To follow developments, it is advisable to keep an eye on Square Enix Manga & Books' official channels.
