First Volume of The Assassin Who Wants to Kill the Immortal Witch Manga Hits the Shelves

The long-awaited manga adaptation, the first volume of the “The Assassin Who Wants to Kill the Immortal Witch” (Ansatsusha wa Fushi no Majo wo Koroshitai) series, met readers in Japan on May 8, 2026, under Overlap's Gardo Comics f label. This work, brought to life with Tsukiyuisou's illustrations, was adapted from Mikura's beloved novel series, and character designs are by Yuuko.
The series focuses on the complex and poignant relationship between Lalanica, an immortal witch who has cast love from her heart, and Nox, a young boy. Having been ostracized by humanity for centuries and seeking death, Lalanica one day saves Nox, a wounded boy. Although Nox gradually develops deep feelings for Lalanica, the immortal witch rejects this love due to their differing lifespans. Thereupon, Nox sets out to find a way to kill Lalanica and returns years later as an assassin, vowing to kill her and then marry her.
The original story began as a web novel published by author Mikura on popular web novel platforms like Kakuyomu and Shosetsuka ni Naro. Mikura's emotional and fantastic narrative had gained a wide readership. The manga adaptation aims to present the depth of the novel and the characters' emotional journey as a visual feast. Overlap's Gardo Comics f imprint is known for publishing works aimed primarily at female readers, and this series continues that trend in the romantic fantasy genre.
