New Manga from the Creator of The Villainess Stans the Heroes: Nagasare Reijō ni Okuru Makeinu Ōji kara no Honki no Love Song is Coming!

Tsubasa Takamatsu, known for their unique perspective on the "villainess" theme in the manga world, has announced a new project that will excite fans. The artist's new manga series Nagasare Reijō ni Okuru Makeinu Ōji kara no Honki no Love Song (A Serious Love Song from a Loser Prince to a Drifting Lady) will begin serialization on May 27, 2026, in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine.
Takamatsu previously made a name for themselves with the highly acclaimed The Villainess Stans the Heroes (Akuyaku Reijou wa Kyou mo Kirei ni Anyaku suru) series. Adapted from Yamori Mitikusa's light novel, this series was published on the Gangan Online platform between 2021 and 2025, concluding in August 2025 after a 6-volume run. The story, in which the main character takes on the role of a villainess to support her favorite characters in the game world, reached a wide audience by funnily subverting the classics of the genre.
The newly announced Nagasare Reijō ni Okuru Makeinu Ōji kara no Honki no Love Song promises an unconventional romance, as the title suggests. Focusing on the dynamics between a "loser prince" and a "lady who is easily drifted/influenced," the work will reflect Takamatsu's characteristic sense of humor and emotional depth. The first announcement of the series was made in the June issue of Square Enix, pointing readers to the date of May 27.
While the popularity of manga blending romantic comedy and fantasy worlds has increased in recent years, new works by successful names like Takamatsu arouse great curiosity in the industry. Especially with the English publishing rights of The Villainess Stans the Heroes...
