To Love-Ru Returns with a One-Shot for Its 20th Anniversary

To Love-Ru is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an unforgettable surprise. The series created by Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki will appear before readers with a new one-shot. According to Anime News Network's news dated August 2, 2026, the same announcement heralds that a 10th anniversary one-shot is also being prepared for Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs.
Running in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2006 to 2009, To Love-Ru followed the events that unfold when shy and clumsy high school student Rito Yuuki meets alien princess Lala. Blending harem and sci-fi genres with romantic comedy, the series quickly became one of Shueisha's most beloved works. The story continued from 2010 to 2017 under the title To Love-Ru Darkness, further expanding its fanbase; Kentaro Yabuki's character designs and Saki Hasemi's script placed this universe among manga's notable harem comedies.
Also announced in the same news, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs bears the signature of Tadahiro Miura. Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020, the series is set in the haunted inn Yuragi-sou; the story of ghost girl Yuuna and high school student Kogarashi Fuyuzora combined supernatural elements with plenty of laugh-out-loud comedy. The series was also adapted into an anime by Xebec in 2018.
Anniversary one-shots give fans of long-dormant popular series a chance to reunite with them. The publication details and timing for the 20th anniversary special of To Love-Ru and the 10th anniversary special of Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs have not yet been revealed. However, with Shueisha's official announcements, a new era of reunion will begin for readers of these two nostalgic series.
