Ukyō Kodachi's Chinese Cuisine-Themed Manga "365 days left for dinner" Has Ended!

One of the most prolific names in the manga world, Ukyō Kodachi, known especially for his work on the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series, has concluded his latest project, the 365 days left for dinner (Ato 365-nichi no Dinner) manga. With the final chapter published in the June issue of Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine, this flavor-filled story has come to an end. The fourth and final volume, which will collect all chapters of the series, will meet readers on July 17, 2026.
The story of the manga centers on a rather interesting duo: Tobira, the pride of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and Tsukasa, a famous food consultant who has only one year left to live. The crossing of these two young women's paths ignites a revolution that will shake the foundations of 4,000 years of Chinese cuisine. While Ukyō Kodachi wrote the story, the illustrations for the series were provided by Sonshō Hangetsuban (Working for God in a Godless World), with Tsunakan Suda handling the composition.
Ukyō Kodachi is generally known to fans for his high-paced action and science fiction works. It was initially surprising that the author, who wrote the first 13 volumes of Boruto and signed off on the scripts for major productions like Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, would turn to a food-themed "seinen" manga. However, 365 days left for dinner, with its structure blending drama and comedy, has once again proven the diversity in Kodachi's storytelling.
The conclusion of this adventure, which began in March 2024, marks the end of an era for Kodachi fans. Although the author's next project has not yet been announced, his past pace and active role in video game projects like The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy suggest that a new announcement is not far off. If you have an interest in Chinese cuisine and an emotional countdown story, the final volume coming out in July could be a good opportunity to add it to your collection.
