New Chapters for Vampire Knight and Last Game Manga Coming in August

What a big surprise! The Vampire Knight and Last Game manga series are returning with brand new chapters to be published in August 2026. These special chapters are being prepared as part of LaLa magazine's 50th anniversary celebrations. According to Anime News Network, both series hold an important place in the magazine's history, and fans have been waiting for such a surprise for a long time.
Vampire Knight is a legendary shoujo vampire story by Matsuri Hino, published in LaLa from 2004 to 2013. The series, unforgettable for its love triangle between Yuki Cross, Kaname Kuran, and Zero Kiryu, has sold millions worldwide. Last Game, on the other hand, is a romantic comedy written by Shinobu Amano; it tells the story of a wealthy and cold male protagonist and an ordinary girl whose rivalry turns into love. This series by Shinobu Amano was also published in LaLa from 2011 to 2016 and gained cult status especially among shoujo fans.
So what do these new chapters mean? LaLa magazine was born as a special issue of Hana to Yume in 1976 and soon evolved into an independent shoujo magazine. Celebrating its 50th year, the magazine offers readers an unforgettable gift in this special year: reviving these two series that had previously concluded, albeit briefly. This is a great opportunity for old fans to feel nostalgia and for new-generation readers to touch these classics. Both chapters are expected to be side stories or epilogues tied to the main story.
Although such anniversary surprises are common in the manga industry, LaLa's choice of these two series is quite meaningful. Vampire Knight had made a name for itself in the past with its anime adaptation and spin-offs; Last Game continues to be popular especially on digital platforms in Turkey. The new chapters are expected to appear in the August issue and then also be released digitally. Fans are already sharing their excitement on social media. More details from the magazine's publisher Hakusensha are expected in the coming weeks.
