Villainess and Rebel Prince: 'My Professional Villainess' Manga Series Begins

Japan's popular digital manga platform COMIC Polaris introduced a brand new series to readers as of June 18. The manga "My Professional Villainess – An Aristocratic Girl Who Has Lost All Hope Rewrites Fate with a Rebel Prince" (original title: プロ悪女ですから~すべてに絶望した令嬢は反逆王子の元で返り咲く~), with story and script by Miyuki Tsutsui and art by Kasumi Tomori, debuted with its first chapter.
The series offers a new take on the classic "villainess" genre. The story follows a young aristocratic girl who has been ostracized by society and has lost all hope, when she meets a prince. However, this prince is a rebellious character who defies court rules. Together, they decide to completely rewrite the destiny assigned to them. The work explores themes of "rebellion born from despair" and "reshaping fate."
Miyuki Tsutsui has previously worked as a scenario writer on various light novel and manga projects. Kasumi Tomori is known especially for her romantic and dramatic illustrations. This collaboration brings new life to the "villainess" sub-genre, which has exploded in popularity on web manga platforms in recent years. COMIC Polaris has previously hosted popular series in this genre such as The Villainess's Revenge and I Became a Villainess in My Second Life.
This genre, which also attracts the interest of manga and anime fans in Turkey, typically features villain characters from otome games as the main protagonists. "My Professional Villainess", however, reverses the classic formula by placing the hero at a darker starting point. The series is expected to particularly appeal to readers who love strong female characters and stories that defy fate.
New chapters of the series are planned to be released on the COMIC Polaris platform on a weekly or biweekly basis, and it is still in its early stages. There is no official English or Turkish license announcement yet, but given the popularity of the genre, it is likely to attract the attention of international publishers soon. Manga fans can read the first chapter for free on the COMIC Polaris website or app.
