Volume 1 of Hyōna's "Irohado Ayakashi Gatari" Manga Adaptation Now Available

The first volume of the highly anticipated manga "Irohado Ayakashi Gatari" was released on June 8 by Bushiroad Comics. This comic, adapted from Ritsu Shimotsuki's novel of the same name, offers an extraordinary story centered on two main characters who come from beyond time.
The manga's plot is quite interesting: a warrior from the Heian period and an onmyōji (yin-yang master) from the Edo period transcend time to meet and together hunt demons. This work by Hyōna combines historical and supernatural elements, promising readers a unique "buddy fantasy" experience. The first volume covers the meeting of these two heroes from different eras and their first mission.
Ritsu Shimotsuki is an experienced writer known for the side stories of "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!" (The Eminence in Shadow) and various light novel projects. On the other hand, Hyōna is an artist who made a name for himself, especially through the illustrations of the popular "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!" manga. This partnership has already garnered a fan base for the series. As one of Bushiroad Comics' most notable recent launches, this work aims to bring together fans of both the novel and manga.
Although time travel and demon hunting themes are common in the manga world, "Irohado Ayakashi Gatari" stands out by bringing together two different historical periods and the personal dynamics of its characters. The cultural conflict and harmony between the Heian warrior figure and the mystical onmyōji of the Edo period seem likely to deepen in future volumes. Currently available only in Japan in print and digital formats, the manga is being closely watched by international publishers. An announcement regarding the second volume is expected in the coming months; fans are eager to continue the adventures of the Heian warrior and the Edo onmyōji.
