Yen Press Brings Full Metal Panic! Family and New Manga Series to English

Yen Press, one of the largest publishers in the world of manga and light novels, continues to expand its library. The most notable title in the company's latest announcement is undoubtedly Full Metal Panic! Family, the sequel to the legendary series. Written by the original series creator Shoji Gatoh, this new series focuses on the married life and parenthood of the couple Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori, which fans have been curious about for years. The story takes place approximately 20 years after the finale of the original series and this time places the Sagara family's children at the center of the action.
The Full Metal Panic! series first began as a light novel in 1998 and quickly became a phenomenon with its unique style that blends the mecha genre with romantic comedy. Adapted into anime by studios such as Gonzo and Kyoto Animation, the series became memorable for Sousuke's efforts to adapt to civilian life after being raised with military discipline. The newly announced Full Metal Panic! Family manga continues this legacy with illustrations by Tetsuro Uezu, promising a nostalgic journey for long-time fans. The series' debut in Japan via Dragon Magazine had made a significant impact.
Yen Press's announcement list is not limited to this series alone. Two A.M. at the Dining Table (Gozen Niji no Shokutaku), the new work by master creator Natsumi Eguchi, known for the Hozuki's Coolheadedness series, is also among the works to be translated into English. Focusing on midnight meals and culinary culture, this manga reflects Eguchi's unique sense of humor. Additionally, N, a manga by Natsume Ono, known for House of Five Leaves, and highly anticipated novels such as See You at That Site of Grace After Work and Your Castle's Little Helper will also meet with readers.
These new licenses show how high the interest is in modern sequels to classic series. The return of a deep-rooted series like Full Metal Panic! both excites the older generation of anime fans and offers new-generation readers an opportunity to enter this universe. Although Yen Press has not yet finalized the exact release dates for these works, the volumes are expected to be available on physical and digital platforms within 2026. Followers can keep track of pre-order dates through the publisher's official social media accounts.
