Three New Licenses and Wolf Children Audiobook News from Yen Press
As one of the largest English-language publishers in the manga and light novel world, Yen Press announced on July 23, 2026, that it has added three new works to its collection and has an audiobook surprise. These licensing deals open the door to exciting new stories for both Japanese and international readers.
Leading the newly licensed series is the light novel “Let’s Begin, a Battle Without the Hero”. This fantasy series questions what it’s like to fight without a hero, bringing a different perspective to the traditional hero’s journey. The second light novel is “The Weakling Who Died a Million Times” – as the name suggests, it follows the rebirth and empowerment adventure of a weak character who dies repeatedly. On the manga front, “The Dragon Prince’s Ill-Mated Betrothal” stands out; telling the romantic and dramatic story of an unexpected engagement with a dragon prince, this work will especially appeal to fantasy romance fans.
In addition, Yen Press also announced the audiobook version of the novel “Wolf Children: Ame & Yuki”, adapted from Mamoru Hosoda’s award-winning film. This emotional story, previously published in print, will now meet readers in audiobook format. This move is seen as part of Yen Press’s strategy to increase diversity in both print and digital content.
