New Series from Okano Kuro: The Forbidden Love That Begins in Dreams, "Yume Furin," Has Started on Manga Mee

Okano Kuro has made an ambitious debut on the Manga Mee platform with their new manga Yume Furin (Dream Adultery). The series, which released its first chapters on May 10, 2026, focuses on the "immoral" relationship a married woman has with her first love in her dreams. Shueisha's digital platform Manga Mee, which specifically targets female readers, opens up a discussion on the themes of loyalty and desire from an unconventional perspective with this new work.
At the center of the story is Noa, who has been married for six months and is cherished by her husband, Kanata. Although she appears to have a perfect marriage from the outside, Noa's mind is occupied by her first love from high school, Tsukasa-senpai. The process, which begins when she sees Tsukasa in her dream one night, quickly becomes uncontrollable. The series asks the question, "Is cheating in dreams a crime?" and takes the reader on a journey between the heavy sense of guilt Noa feels and the forbidden attraction offered by her dreams.
In the later chapters of the series, clues begin to emerge that these dreams are not just Noa's imagination. Especially early in the story, the realization that Tsukasa is also having similar dreams and that the dreams are connecting to reality elevates the subject beyond a simple story of infidelity into a mysterious dimension. Okano Kuro demonstrates their talent for exploring the inner worlds of characters and social taboos in this work as well. The Manga Mee platform has previously hosted acclaimed dramas such as Tomorrow, I Will Be Someone's Girlfriend; Yume Furin is also expected to reach similar popularity.
For now, it is only available in Japanese
