A New Romantic Series from Yuu Yoshinaga: Saredo, Futari wa Kusare En is Coming!

Yuu Yoshinaga, one of the prolific names in the world of shoujo manga, is returning with a new project without keeping her fans waiting too long. According to the announcement in the June issue of Shogakukan's Betsucomi magazine, Yoshinaga's new series Saredo, Futari wa Kusare En (Still, We Have an Unwanted but Inseparable Love) will debut with its first chapter in the magazine's next issue, which will be released on June 12th.
The new series centers around childhood friends Muku Mochigi and Kyо̄ Yakumo. The story will focus on the contentious and romantic bond between this duo, who, despite not liking each other much, are always forced to be together in a relationship known in Japanese as "kusare en" (a bond that is hard to break, sometimes unfortunate but inevitable). As in Yoshinaga's previous works, emotional depth and character development are expected to be at the forefront of this series.
This announcement comes just as the mangaka's previous popular series, Diary of a Female Lead: Shujinkou Nikki, has freshly concluded. Shujinkou Nikki, which began in 2021 and spanned 10 volumes, concluded its main story with the chapter published on May 13th. The fact that Yoshinaga is starting a new series in such a short time shows both the magazine management's confidence in her and the high level of the artist's creative energy.
Having created many beloved romantic manga throughout her career such as Kimi no Tonari de Nemuritai, Tsumi Koi, and Hatsukoi Asterism, Yuu Yoshinaga is considered one of the most consistent names in the modern shoujo genre. The new series by the author, who is particularly known for her success in reflecting the inner worlds of her characters, will be released on June 12th in Betsucomi.
