Ize Press Acquires Print Licenses for BL Webtoons Codename: Anastasia and Mignon

Ize Press has announced that it has acquired the English print licenses for two beloved BL webtoons, Codename: Anastasia and Mignon. This move is particularly notable as the physical box set for Mignon will include the previously digitally-only animated adaptation.
According to Anime News Network, the Mignon box set will include a one-hour uncensored animated film and an 11-minute special side story animation that has never been released elsewhere. The original webtoon will also be included in print in the same set. Ize Press's move shows that interest in the BL genre is also reflected in physical products.
Codename: Anastasia is an intense romantic thriller set in the mafia world, created by author NAMSO (Jeon Hak-sung). The series has gained a huge fanbase both in Korea and internationally, especially for its electric dynamic between characters and stunning art style. That Ize Press will also release this webtoon in print is an exciting development for fans who previously only read it on digital platforms.
On the other hand, Mignon is a BL classic written by author M, depicting the passionate relationship between a boxer and a doctor. Previously adapted as an independent animated film, the series now becomes a physical collectible with this box set. Ize Press's special set is likely to sell out quickly when pre-orders open.
The rise of the BL genre in physical publishing has accelerated in recent years as publishers like Ize Press bring Korean-origin webtoons to the Western market. Print versions of popular series like Codename: Anastasia and Mignon appeal to collectors and contribute to the genre gaining more mainstream presence. In the coming months, Ize Press is expected to announce release dates and pre-order details for these two series.
