Netflix Shares Trailer for Viral Hit Live-Action Series: Release Date and Cast Revealed!

Netflix has finally shared the long-awaited main trailer for the popular webtoon Viral Hit (known in Japan as Kenka Dokugaku), which combines the worlds of martial arts and social media. Previously expected to be released at the end of May, the series will now premiere worldwide simultaneously on June 11, 2026, according to the latest announcement. The released trailer is packed with fight choreographies that will excite fans of the series and scenes reflecting the chaotic nature of the digital age.
The story of the series revolves around Kota Shimura (Hobin Yu in the original webtoon), a weak high school student who is bullied at school and struggles to pay his mother's hospital bills. When one of his fights accidentally goes viral on the internet, Kota realizes that he can make money by filming fight videos. Learning how to fight from the videos of a mysterious chicken-masked mentor, Kota turns into a "NewTube" phenomenon by challenging opponents much stronger than himself. The trailer presents both the physical and ethical challenges of this rise with impressive visuals.
There is a very strong team behind the production. The series is directed by Hideki Takeuchi, known for Fly Me to the Saitama, while the screenplay was written by Yuichi Tokunaga, the writer of the Cells at Work! live-action adaptation. Ōji Suzuka brings the character of Kota Shimura to life in the lead role, accompanied by names such as Meru Nukumi (Kaho Asamiya), Ai Mikami (Aki Yashio), and Araki Sugō (Toru Kaneko). We will also see Noritaka Hamao as MMA talent Tatsuya Ogi and Kentarō Maeda as taekwondo master Reo Shinjo.
