English Dubbed Trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe Arrives: US Release Date Announced!

The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway trilogy, one of the darkest and most political stories in the Gundam universe, is returning with its second installment. The English dubbed trailer released for the second film in the series, The Sorcery of Nymph Circe (Kirukē no Majo), has created great excitement among fans. According to the official announcement, the film will be released in theaters across the United States on May 15, 2026. This move is seen as an important part of the Sunrise (Bandai Namco Filmworks) studio's strategy to increase its influence in the global market.
This film series is based on the Hathaway's Flash novel series written by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino between 1989 and 1990. The story takes place 12 years after the events of the legendary Char's Counterattack, in the year Universal Century 0105. Our protagonist, Hathaway Noa, launches a resistance against the Federation's corrupt system under the identity of "Mafty Navue Erin." When the first film was released in 2021, it received worldwide acclaim for both its visual quality and mature narrative, grossing 2.23 billion yen in Japan.
Master director Shukou Murase returns to the director's chair for the second film, while the music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, known for works such as Attack on Titan and Solo Leveling. One of the most striking aspects of the production is the music selection; the film's opening theme features SZA's "Snooze," while the closing features the legendary Guns N' Roses song "Sweet Child o' Mine." Having premiered in Japan on January 30, 2026, the film managed to surpass the success of the first film by reaching 2.4 billion yen in revenue in just 29 days.
For Gundam fans, this sequel deepens Hathaway Noa's tragic transformation and his ideological conflict with Kenneth Sleg. Furthermore, the influence of the mysterious Gigi Andalusia on the fate of both men is explored more clearly in this chapter. Following the US theatrical release, the film is expected to meet a global audience on digital platforms soon, particularly on Netflix, where the first film was released. The visual spectacle that the massive battles between Xi Gundam and Penelope will offer on the big screen is already a subject of great curiosity.
