Ace of Diamond actII Second Season Begins: Seido's Championship Run Continues Where It Left Off!

The moment baseball enthusiasts have been waiting for has finally arrived! Adapted from Yuji Terajima's legendary manga series, Ace of Diamond actII Second Season (Daiya no A actII) begins its broadcast on April 5, 2026. The first episode of the new season will take viewers straight into the heart of the action, at the critical 5th round of the West Tokyo Summer Tournament. As Seido High School takes the field against Norikane Academy, the team's new ace, Eijun Sawamura, will attempt to tower over the field under the weight of this title for the first time.
In this new installment of the series, we will see Sawamura and his teammates take another step closer to their Koshien goal. As you may recall, the first season of actII concluded in 2020, leaving fans in great suspense. Arriving after a wait of approximately six years, this new season will delve deeply not only into Sawamura's development but also into how key figures like Satoru Furuya and captain Kazuya Miyuki cope with the pressure upon them. This season will feature matches with significant emotional weight, especially since it is the final summer tournament for the third-year students.
On the production side, there has been a major change in leadership. The Madhouse studio, which produced the previous seasons, has handed the reins to OLM, known for works such as Pokémon and Summertime Rendering. Hideaki Oba sits in the director's chair, while veteran Kenji Konuta continues to oversee the series' script. The music is entrusted to Hajime Hyakkoku, who is familiar with the spirit of the series. Despite the studio change, it is clear from the trailers that the series' unique, dynamic, and exciting visual language has been preserved.
Ace of Diamond first began its journey in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2006 and became a phenomenon among sports manga with over 45 million copies sold. This work, adorned with Yuji Terajima's realistic baseball dynamics, has cemented its success with anime adaptations that have been ongoing since 2013. In the new season, we will also meet new rivals such as Koya Urabe, Soichi Yagira, and Koji Nara. The opening theme will be graced by Baby Canta's song "Let's Go Crazy," while SUPER☆DRAGON's track "NUMBER" will accompany us during the ending. Are you ready to take the field? Play ball!
