Anime Singer Taiiku Okazaki Takes Break from Stage Due to Health Issues
One of the beloved names of the Japanese anime music world, Taiiku Okazaki, has decided to take a break from the stage due to health issues. In his official statement, the artist announced that he has canceled all concerts and events throughout 2026, and will focus entirely on his health during this period.
Okazaki is particularly known for hit theme songs such as 'Silhouette' from Naruto Shippuden, 'Kyouran Hey Kids!!' from Noragami Aragoto, and 'Gekkan' from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Having become an indispensable voice of the anime industry since the early 2010s, the artist also contributed works to productions such as Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia.
In this news that saddened fans, Okazaki said, "I can no longer ignore my ongoing health problems. I need to take good care of myself and my body." While the specific illness the artist is battling was not detailed, it was emphasized that there is no emergency but rest is unavoidable.
Such health breaks are not uncommon among Japanese artists with intense touring and recording schedules.
