New Cast News and Delay Decision for Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? Anime

New details have been shared that both excite and slightly sadden fans of the popular romantic comedy manga series Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? (Jimen-chan wa Jirai desu ka?). According to the official announcement, the release date of the highly anticipated anime series has been postponed to January 2027. However, to compensate for this wait, it has been announced that legendary names from the anime world have joined the voice cast.
The newly announced cast includes some of the industry's most renowned names: Maaya Uchida, Tomokazu Sugita, and Daisuke Ono. Although it has not yet been detailed which characters these three giants will bring to life, it was previously known that Hina Suguta would voice the lead character Chihara-san, and Shun Horie would voice Kuroki. These new additions to the cast have significantly raised expectations regarding the production quality of the series.
Written by Ryon and first published in 2021 on the Comic Walker and Nico Nico Seiga platforms, the manga quickly reached a large fan base. The story focuses on the sweet and funny relationship between Chihara-san, who appears "dangerous" or "troublesome" (known as 'jirai-kei' in Japanese) from the outside but is actually quite pure and shy, and her classmate Kuroki. The series is known for addressing the aesthetic understanding of modern Japanese youth culture with a humorous tone.
The production team also announced a special music project that will excite fans before the premiere in January. Before the anime airs, a special song project reflecting the atmosphere of the series will be brought to life. Although the delay decision was made to improve the quality of the production, this music project and the strong voice cast seem to be a nice consolation for followers who want to enter the world of Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?.
