Armored Trooper VOTOMS Diorama Exhibition Returns in 2026 with a "Kummen" Theme

One of the cult classics of the mecha world, Armored Trooper VOTOMS, is preparing for a major event that will excite its fans. The diorama exhibition titled "Armored Trooper VOTOMS Comprehensive Model Exercise 2026" will be held at Kita-Senju Marui in Tokyo from October 9 to November 8, 2026. This annual event, where master modelers showcase their skills, will feature the theme of the Kummen Arc, one of the most iconic parts of the series known for its jungle warfare.
Along with the announcement of the event, an impressive key visual prepared by the famous mechanical designer and illustrator Hidetaka Tenjin was also shared. Created by Tenjin, who is known for his work on the Macross and Gundam series, this visual already reflects the atmosphere of the exhibition. Visitors will not only see expertly crafted dioramas at the exhibition but will also have the chance to step into the world of the series at special photo spots. In addition, the Fang of the Sun Dougram series, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary, will join as a guest work, offering a complete visual feast for mecha enthusiasts.
First aired in 1983 and directed by Ryosuke Takahashi, Armored Trooper VOTOMS is considered one of the toughest and most realistic examples of the "Real Robot" genre. Telling the story of the main character Chirico Cuvie, the series revolutionized the genre by treating giant robots (Armored Troopers) not as superheroes, but as expendable military vehicles. The Kummen Arc, in particular, is highly regarded for its atmosphere inspired by the Vietnam War and the Marshydog, which was customized for swamp operations.
