Atelier Karia Game Releases First Trailer: Coming to Switch 2 and Other Platforms in 2027

The long-running Atelier series' new installment Atelier Karia has released its highly anticipated first video. Developed by Gust and Koei Tecmo, the game will launch in early 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). The announcement was made official with a first-look video released on June 13, 2026.
The video focuses on atmosphere and character designs rather than gameplay details. Maintaining the traditional alchemy-themed JRPG structure, Atelier Karia combines the series' classic crafting system, exploration, and story-driven nature with a modern touch. The game is noted to be an exciting milestone for fans of the series, especially as it will take advantage of the new hardware features of the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Atelier series began in 1997 with its first game Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg, and over time has featured over a hundred characters and many sub-series. Gust's signature warm character designs and in-depth crafting mechanics will take center stage in Atelier Karia, as in every new game. It is speculated that the game will tell a brand new story following the series' "Secret" sub-series.
Since the release date is announced as early 2027, fans will have to wait a while longer. However, more detailed gameplay videos, character introductions, and perhaps a demo may come in the coming months. For the series' loyal fanbase, Atelier Karia is seen as one of the most ambitious titles to deliver alchemy fun on new-gen consoles.
