Attack on Titan 3 Announced: The Entire Story from Start to Finish in a Single Game

A big surprise! Koei Tecmo has officially announced Attack on Titan 3. According to Anime News Network, the new title will tell the entire story of the anime series from start to finish in a single game. This will be the first comprehensive game adaptation covering everything from the first chapter to the finale of Hajime Isayama's legendary manga.
The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The fact that the Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet been officially announced indicates that this game will be one of the first major titles prepared for the next-generation console. Developed by Koei Tecmo's Omega Force studio, the title will further advance the action-focused combat mechanics of the previous games in the series.
If you recall, the first Attack on Titan game was released in 2016 and covered events up to the first season. Attack on Titan 2 in 2018 extended to the second season and offered players the ability to create their own characters. That the third game would cover the entire series was the biggest expectation of fans, especially after the anime ended in 2023. Now we will be able to experience the story of Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert from beginning to end on a single disc.
Koei Tecmo's decision follows the increasingly common "complete package" trend in the gaming world. Attack on Titan 3 will be an excellent entry point for new fans and will give loyal players the opportunity to rediscover the series. Visual quality is also expected to be significantly improved for next-generation consoles. In particular, flight scenes using the Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear are likely to be played with almost zero loading screens thanks to the fast SSDs of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The release date has not been announced yet, but considering that Koei Tecmo usually puts the game on shelves within 6-12 months after major announcements, a date like late 2026 or early 2027 can be expected. For Attack on Titan fans, this is the beginning of a new era in the game universe of the series. More details about the game will be shared at upcoming events and official channels in the coming months. Eyes are already on the Tokyo Game Show and future Nintendo Direct presentations!
