Rukia Kuchiki's Change Draws Attention in Episode 4 of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War series' final part, The Calamity, aired its 4th episode. According to Anime Corner, a striking visual update was made to Rukia Kuchiki in the ending video of this episode. This update was interpreted as a strong hint regarding the character's narrative in the final season.
Tite Kubo's manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016, completing in 74 volumes. The original BLEACH anime ended in 2012, and the story's final arc remained unadapted for a long time. The Thousand-Year Blood War project filled this gap in 2022 under Studio Pierrot; three different parts were released in 2022, 2023, and 2024 respectively. The currently ongoing The Calamity is considered the final step of this four-part finale project.
Rukia Kuchiki is one of the series' most beloved characters and stands out as the captain of the 13th Division in the final arc. Her freezing Bankai Hakka no Togame, used against Äs Nödt in the manga, is among the most memorable moments of her story. Therefore, the change in the ending video is said to hint at Rukia's upcoming major moments and her role in the finale.
The Calamity draws attention with its additional scenes seen in previous parts and its episode-by-episode changing credits. In this process, where Tite Kubo is directly involved in the production, the ending visuals also provide small but meaningful hints about the story. In the upcoming episodes, it is eagerly awaited how Rukia's change will reflect on the story and whether other characters will receive similar updates.
