Buchikire Reijou wa Fukushuu wo Chikaimashita Anime Starts July 6: New Cast and Promotional Video Released

The official release date has been announced for Seven Arcs studio's highly anticipated new anime adaptation “Buchikire Reijou wa Fukushuu wo Chikaimashita” (The Mad Lady Swore Revenge). The production, which will air on channels and digital platforms in Japan on July 6, 2025, is adapted from the light novel series of the same name. Additionally, two more important voice actors have joined the cast: Yu Serizawa (known for roles in popular series) and Shizuka Ishigami (an experienced voice heard in many anime and games). Along with this news, the main promotional video (main PV) was released, giving fans their first chance to hear the character voices.
The light novel series was created by author Ryo Takami and illustrator Kouki Fuyuzora. The story follows a young noblewoman Leticia, who uses the power of an ancient spellbook to take revenge for everything she lost due to her family's betrayal and the kingdom's oppression. The character, known as “Buchikire reijō” (mad lady), tries to defeat her enemies in both physical and strategic battles. The series stands out especially for its strong female lead and dark fantasy atmosphere.
The new promotional video shows the beginning of the story and some of the main characters. In the visuals, Leticia's anger and determination are prominent. Additionally, the video introduced a mysterious supporting character Alfred voiced by Yu Serizawa and a rival/friend figure Milia voiced by Shizuka Ishigami. Previously announced main cast members include Maaya Uchida (as Leticia) and Kensho Ono (in another key role). The production team stated that the voice acting performances perfectly match the dramatic tone of the story.
This announcement is very exciting for light novel fans because the series has reached 8 volumes in Japan and the manga adaptation is ongoing. Buchikire Reijou wa Fukushuu wo Chikaimashita appeals especially to viewers who enjoy revenge-themed dark fantasy works. It is often mentioned alongside similar titles like “The Aristocrat’s Otherworldly Adventure” or “The Executioner and Her Way of Life”. The series will air weekly with new episodes starting July 6, and is expected to be simulcast on international platforms as well. More character introductions and a second trailer may come in the following days.
