Crunchyroll Announces New Anime Series to be Released in Summer 2026: Tomb Raider King, Overgeared and More

Crunchyroll announced on June 3, 2026, seven new anime that will be available on the platform during the summer season. The announcement caused a great stir, especially as it confirmed the arrival of anime versions of popular manhwa adaptations such as Tomb Raider King and Overgeared.
The full list is as follows: Goodbye, Lara, Firefly Wedding, Tomb Raider King, Overgeared, I Became a Legend after My 10 Year-Long Last Stand, The Ogre's Bride, and The Villager of Level 999. Most of these productions once again highlight the importance Crunchyroll has placed on Korean-sourced content in recent years. Tomb Raider King is adapted from the webtoon of the same name by San.G, while Overgeared comes from Park Saenal's web novel that has reached millions of readers. Both series have a large fan base in Turkey.
Additionally, the announcement highlights some lesser-known productions. While no detailed information is yet available about Goodbye, Lara and Firefly Wedding, it is speculated that The Ogre's Bride offers a fantasy romance story. I Became a Legend after My 10 Year-Long Last Stand stands out as an action-fantasy series, as its name suggests. The Villager of Level 999 will tell the story of an ordinary villager's rise to power.
This move by Crunchyroll shows that the platform is targeting a different audience by focusing particularly on manhwa and web novel adaptations. Having achieved great success in recent years with productions such as Solo Leveling and The God of High School, the platform is now raising the bar by bringing strong properties like Tomb Raider King and Overgeared to anime. While fans eagerly await the release dates and trailers for these series, Crunchyroll is expected to make more announcements in the coming months.
