Crunchyroll Releases Two New Special Episodes for The Quintessential Quintuplets!

The story of the quintuplets continues! The popular anime platform Crunchyroll has announced that it has added the long-awaited The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽ and The Quintessential Quintuplets Specials 2 (also known as The Quintessential Quintuplets*) episodes to its streaming catalog. Offered with eight different subtitle options, these episodes both complete the missing parts of the series from the manga and shed light on the future of the characters.
The first special episode released, The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽, was shown in theaters in Japan in 2023. This episode covers summer vacation stories that were not included in the main anime series or the final film, but are of great importance in the manga. Produced by Studio SHAFT, this special production brings to the screen those unforgettable summer days when the quintuplets' relationships with Futaro Uesugi deepened, allowing fans to fill in the gaps in the story.
The second special episode features an original story written personally by the series creator Negi Haruba. The Quintessential Quintuplets Specials 2 offers a "Honeymoon Arc" set in Hawaii that focuses on the characters' adulthood. In this episode, signed by Bibury Animation Studios, we watch the lives of the quintuplets and Futaro after graduation and the fun events they experience on this special vacation they took together. This episode is now meeting with a global audience after being released in Japan in the fall of 2024.
Negi Haruba's manga, which was published between 2017-2020 and sold more than 20 million copies, is considered one of the most successful examples of the modern harem and romantic comedy genre. The anime journey, which began in 2019, was crowned with two seasons and a major final film in 2022. However, these new special episodes prove that the series is not just a school story, but a vast universe that also covers the growth processes of the characters. This move by Crunchyroll offers a great opportunity for collector-minded fans who want to finish the series completely.
If you have missed the story of the Nakano sisters (Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki), these episodes are the best way to say goodbye to the series (or perhaps say hello to new adventures). Let us remind you that a new light novel project has also been announced for the future of the series; so the world of the quintuplets will continue to remain on the agenda for a long time!
