Cure Éclair's Identity Revealed on July 19 in Meitantei Precure!

The beloved Precure series' new mystery-themed member Meitantei Precure! (Detective Precure!) is about to solve one of the biggest secrets of this month. The true identity of the mysterious transformation hero Cure Éclair will be revealed for the first time in episode 25, airing on July 19. The announcement was made by the Japanese anime news site Natalie.
So what can fans do before this big reveal? Toei Animation has launched an interactive campaign to heighten the excitement. In this poll titled 'Who is Cure Éclair's Identity?', four candidate characters are nominated: Haruka, Riko, Satsuki, and another supporting role among the main characters of the series. Fans can support their theories by voting on the official website. The campaign will run until the episode airs.
Meitantei Precure! premiered in March earlier this year and gained attention by blending the traditional Precure formula with detective elements. While the series depicts the school life and mystery-solving struggles of main hero Kira and her friends, Cure Éclair quickly became the most anticipated character among fans. This type of poll is a method Toei has used in previous Precure seasons (for example, in Hirogaru Sky! Precure) but not to this extent; therefore, fan reactions are quite excited.
This kind of interaction is a rare innovation, especially in the long-running Precure series. The series first started in 2004 and was introduced to the world with Futari wa Pretty Cure. In its 21-year history, we've seen dozens of different Precure characters, but keeping an identity so secret and involving fans in the process – especially with a detective theme – brings a fresh breath. Who Cure Éclair is may be a key that will shape the rest of the season's story.
While watching episode 25 this weekend, don't forget to vote – after all, we're all a bit detectives. For campaign details and participation in the voting, you can visit the official Meitantei Precure! website. After the episode airs, you'll see how accurate your theories were!
