First Trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Released

The first trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has officially been released. This announcement, shaking the anime world, confirms that the partnership between Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red will continue. The trailer opens with dark neon lights and the iconic Night City skyline, focusing on a new main character's struggle for survival.
When the first season aired on Netflix in 2022, it received full marks from critics and reignited interest in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. The show's producers state that the second season will take place after the first game and will offer a new narrative connected to the original story. Familiar faces and silhouettes briefly appearing in the trailer suggest that this connection may be deeper than we thought.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 carries the visionary touch of Hiroyuki Imaishi, just like the first season. Imaishi and his team have adopted an even bolder line style for character designs, and the action scenes are filled with exaggerated yet fluid choreography that has become Trigger's signature. The producers promise a screenplay that will question the fine line between 'protector and destroyer'.
Although the release date has not yet been confirmed, industry sources suggest that the new season could be released on Netflix in the last quarter of 2025 or early 2026. Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red continues to expand the universe with the game's sequel, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Fans have already started generating theories to explore the connections between the two media.
