Big Surprise in Daemons of the Shadow Realm Anime: Shinichirō Miki Joins the Cast!

Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa's highly acclaimed new series Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) continues to create excitement in the anime world. Shinichirō Miki, one of the most iconic voices in the anime industry, has joined the cast of the production, which premiered on April 4, 2026, and is produced by Studio Bones. Miki, who voices the character Ivan Yosano, who first appeared in the 6th episode released on May 9, has brought a fresh breath to the series' mysterious atmosphere.
Shinichirō Miki's inclusion in the cast carries an emotional significance, especially for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood fans. Miki voiced the character Roy Mustang in Arakawa's previous masterpiece. Years later, his voicing of a dangerous, dual-sword-wielding assassin named Ivan Yosano in another of the author's major projects has caused a great stir on social media. Ivan Yosano is described in the story as a cold-blooded and skilled warrior who controls two powerful Tsugai (Daemons) named Shokyo and Daikyo (Magatsuhi).
Daemons of the Shadow Realm tells the story of Yuru, who lives peacefully in a mountain village, and his twin sister Asa, who is imprisoned due to a mysterious mission. After a sudden attack on their village, Yuru encounters the modern world and discovers that he is the master of the guardian spirits known as Left and Right. The manga, which began serialization in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2021, quickly exceeded 4 million copies sold, once again proving Arakawa's mastery of storytelling.
