Date A Live Series on the Path to the Finale: New Anime "Date A Live F Last Date" Announced!

The long-awaited news for Date A Live fans has finally arrived! An announcement made through the series' official channels revealed that an all-new anime project titled "Date A Live F Last Date" is currently in production. In the first teaser visual accompanying the announcement, we see the series' iconic character, Tohka Yatogami, in a stunning wedding dress. This visual is widely considered the biggest sign that the story is evolving toward an emotional and final conclusion.

Junji Nishimura will sit in the director's chair for the new project, while Studio Fugaku will handle the animation production. The fifth season of the series, Date A Live V, met with audiences in 2024 and left the story at a major cliffhanger. The original light novel series, written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, officially concluded in 2020 with its 22nd volume. This new project is expected to cover the final volumes of the novel and the epilogue chapters that fans have been eagerly anticipating, providing a grand farewell to the series.

Since it first hit screens in 2013, the Date A Live series has been known for its studio changes. Having passed through the hands of various studios such as AIC Plus+, Production IMS, J.C.Staff, and most recently Geek Toys, the series has managed to maintain a loyal fanbase throughout. How the new studio, Fugaku, will take over this legacy and what kind of visual flair they will bring to the series' finale has already created great excitement within the community. The short promotional video (PV) released in particular promises that the series' characteristic atmosphere will be preserved.

This unique story, where spirits threaten the world and the only way to stop them is to "date them," is preparing for an epic conclusion with the final adventure of Shido Itsuka and the girls. Although a definitive release date has not yet been shared, there is speculation that the "F" in the project's title could stand for "Final" or "Fragment." Fans are counting down the days to learn how the relationship between Tohka and Shido will conclude and to uncover the secret behind the wedding dress visual.
