Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 Releases on October 29 for Nintendo Switch 2

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is launching on October 29, 2026 with a special edition for Nintendo Switch 2. The second game adaptation of one of the most popular anime in the world, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, arrives with exclusive content for the next-gen hybrid console. The game was first announced in 2025, and now the Switch 2 version is official.
This special edition includes previously released and new DLC characters (such as fan favorites Akaza, Rengoku) in addition to the base game. The most notable feature is cross-play support. You can fight alongside friends in the same match between the original Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This is a major plus for players who haven't upgraded to Switch 2 yet.
The first game, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles, received positive reviews from both critics and fans upon its release in 2021, selling over 2 million copies in Japan. The series' developer, CyberConnect2, known for the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, aims to offer a more extensive story mode this time. The second game will cover the Mugen Train and Hashira Training arcs from the manga.
Considering that the Nintendo Switch 2 is still a new platform, this version stands as one of the console's first major third-party games. Additionally, release dates for other platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC) may be clarified in the coming months. The end of 2026 looks quite exciting for Demon Slayer fans — with both the game and new season news for the anime.
A detailed character list and pre-order bonuses are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. For now, mark your calendars for October 29; Tanjiro and friends will be waiting for you on Switch 2.
