Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Officially Announced: Heading to the "Age 1000" Era in 2027!

The big moment Dragon Ball fans have been waiting for has finally arrived! Bandai Namco officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event held in Los Angeles. Coming exactly ten years after the second game in the series, this announcement has made a huge splash in the gaming world. According to the announcement, the new game will be released in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) platforms.
The most striking aspect of the game is that it will take us to the distant future of the Dragon Ball universe, the "Age 1000" era. Previously leaked as a mysterious project, this era will offer players the opportunity to explore a completely renovated and futuristic West City. The story focuses on the Great Saiyan Squad, inspired by Gohan's heroism. Players will once again be able to create their own characters and write their own legends in this new timeline.
This project also holds emotional significance, as it is one of the final projects personally worked on by the legendary creator Akira Toriyama, who passed away in 2024. The development team Dimps confirmed that Toriyama had been working on special character designs and world-building for this game since the late 2010s. The previous game in the series, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, achieved incredible success, selling over 10 million copies since its release in 2016 and receiving continuous DLC support for a decade.
Xenoverse 3 promises not just a fighting game, but an adventure featuring deep RPG elements. The next-generation graphics and fluid combat mechanics seen in the trailers show that while remaining faithful to the series' roots, it will utilize all the capabilities of modern technology. Bandai Namco added that they will share more details about gameplay videos and the character roster in the coming months. We are eagerly awaiting 2027 to step into this new and unexplored era of the Dragon Ball universe!
