Kore Kaite Shine Anime Release Date Announced: New Song News from Tatsuya Kitani!

Exciting details continue to emerge from the Kore Kaite Shine (Draw This, Then Die!) anime, eagerly awaited by manga enthusiasts. With the first main promotional video shared on the series' official channels, it has been confirmed that the production will premiere in Japan on July 3, 2026. Additionally, it was announced that popular artist Tatsuya Kitani, known for works such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach, will perform the anime's opening theme with his song "Isho" (Will).
The original manga, penned by Minoru Toyoda, has proven its worth by winning the prestigious Manga Taisho award in 2023 and being honored with the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2025. The story revolves around high school student Ai Yasumi, who lives on Izu-Oshima island and is passionately devoted to reading manga. Ai's journey to create her own work, inspired by an old manga artist she coincidentally meets, sincerely addresses both the fascinating and challenging aspects of the manga industry.
Director Hiroaki Akagi, known for successful works such as Teasing Master Takagi-san and The Dangers in My Heart, is in the production chair for the anime. The voice cast for the production, prepared by Shin-Ei Animation studio, is also quite impressive. Akira Sekine (Ai Yasumi) takes the lead role, accompanied by experienced names such as Saori Hayami (Rei Teshima) and Inori Minase (Hikaru Sekiryū). The visual quality displayed in the promotional video shows that the manga's unique drawing style has been successfully adapted to the screen.
