Duel Masters LOST: Danzai no Shōnen Anime Premieres on October 9, 2026

The Duel Masters LOST: Danzai no Shōnen anime will be released on October 9, 2026. According to Anime News Network, a new visual and returning staff members from the first film were also shared with this announcement. Thus, the date for the highly anticipated second installment of the Duel Masters LOST project was officially confirmed.

Duel Masters LOST is a two-part special anime project that reinterprets the Duel Masters universe created by Shigenobu Matsumoto with a darker and more adult-oriented tone. The manga published in CoroCoro Comic with a script by Shin Yoshida and art by Yoshihisa forms the basis of this project. The series' first film, Tsuioku no Suishō (Crystal of Memories), premiered in Japan on October 4, 2024, and laid the foundation of the story. The second film, Danzai no Shōnen (Boy of Judgment), will bring the continuation and possibly the conclusion of this story.

The announcement confirmed that the staff from the first film is largely returning. Toshihiko Masuda is in the director's chair, while Shin Yoshida writes the script. Character designs are by manga artist Yoshihisa. The animation is handled by studio J.C.Staff. The retention of this team is the strongest sign that the atmosphere of the first film will continue exactly into the second installment.

Duel Masters is a series that has been published in CoroCoro Comic since 1999 and grew with Takara Tomy's trading card game. Many anime adaptations have been made since 2002; however, Duel Masters LOST stands out as a special project in which the series is handled with a more serious and dramatic tone. Especially the fanbase that grew up with the series and is now adult has been eagerly awaiting such an interpretation.

The newly released visual summarizes the film's dark atmosphere and the tension the characters are in.
