Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel- Announced: Coming in 2026 with English Support

One of the beloved works of the science fiction and anime world, Expelled from Paradise (Rakuen Tsuiho), is celebrating its tenth anniversary with major surprises. Toei Animation and developer Studio51 have announced a new visual novel titled Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel-, which will directly continue the story of the series. It has also been confirmed that the game, which will be released for Nintendo Switch and Steam in the winter of 2026, will feature English language support from the very beginning.
This new visual novel is described as a sequel that takes place after the original 2014 film. The characters familiar to fans, Angela Balzac and Zarik "Dingo" Kajiwara, return in lead roles for this new adventure. The developers state that the game will be a "full-scale visual novel that presents a grand science fiction vision with impressive text and an immersive narrative." The story will continue to deepen the philosophical and technological conflicts between the DEVA society, where human consciousness is digitized, and the ruined Earth.
The original Expelled from Paradise film bore the signatures of famous screenwriter Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) and director Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist). Having gained cult status with its visual quality and deep story since its release in 2014, the work is being revived as part of its 10th anniversary. The visual novel announcement is not the only development exciting fans of the series; a sequel film titled Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart (Rakuen Tsuiho: Kokoro no Kyomei) is also on the way, scheduled for release on November 13, 2026.
