Farming Life in Another World 2: Atsushi Abe and Producer Hiromi Sueta Share the Secrets of the "Slow Life"

As one of the most peaceful and relaxing examples of the isekai genre, Farming Life in Another World (Isekai Nonbiri Nouka) invites fans back to the fertile lands of Great Tree Village with its second season. Following the premiere of the new season in April 2026, Atsushi Abe, who voices the lead character Hiraku Machio, and producer Hiromi Sueta shared in an exclusive interview how they built the series' unique "slow-life" atmosphere. Abe noted that his character is always in a very natural state, and that reflecting this peaceful mood in his voice has been an interesting experience for him.
Producer Hiromi Sueta emphasized that they worked with great diligence during the production phase to maintain the series' constructive narrative, which is free from conflict. One of the most notable details shared by Sueta was the field research conducted to increase the realism of the scenes. The Studio Zero-G team made personal observations in cultivation areas to ensure the accuracy of the farming scenes, while special recordings were made in the studio with voice actors for cultural moments, such as the songs in the grape-stomping scenes. This approach ensures that the series feels not just like a fantasy world, but like a living, breathing community.
Started as a web novel by Kinosuke Naito in 2016, the series was adapted into a light novel with illustrations by Yasumo, and subsequently into a manga by Yasuyuki Tsurugi. Following the great success of the first season in 2023, the total circulation of the series has exceeded 5.7 million copies. In the second season, the story focuses on Hiraku maturing not just as a farmer, but also as a father and a village leader.
