Fire Force Anime Bids Farewell with a Grand Finale: Special Visual and Opening Video Released

Atsushi Ohkubo’s globally phenomenal manga Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai) concluded its journey in the anime world as of April 4, 2026. Bidding farewell to screens with the 25th episode of the series' third and final season, the production offered a special surprise to its fans to celebrate this historic moment. The production team shared a special final visual honoring the entire journey of the series and a unique opening sequence (OP) prepared exclusively for the final episode.
The third season, brought to life by David Production studio, was released in two cours to complete the story in its entirety. The final season, which began its first part in April 2025, brought the story of Shinra Kusakabe and Special Fire Force Company 8 to its peak with its second part, which started on January 10, 2026. The visual quality displayed in the final episodes and the introduction of the Shinrabanshoman form, in particular, resonated widely among anime fans on social media.
Fire Force concluded its journey, which began in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2015, with a massive 34-volume collection in 2022. However, the anime's finale was not just the end of a story, but also the confirmation of the greatest secret of the Ohkubo universe. The series finale established a direct connection with the author's other legendary work, Soul Eater, confirming that Fire Force is actually a prequel to that universe. The appearance of iconic characters such as Maka and Excalibur in the final episode served as an unforgettable farewell for fans.
The anime adaptation, which began in 2019, went down in history as one of the most unique examples of the modern shonen genre with a total of three seasons and 73 episodes. This epic struggle against the phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion left a mark in memories with both its action scenes and deep philosophical subtext. With the end of the series, all eyes are now turned to the future projects of creator Atsushi Ohkubo and the possibility of a Soul Eater remake that fans have been anticipating for a long time.
