Firefly Wedding Anime Starts October 9 with Second Teaser Video and New Cast Members

The Firefly Wedding anime adaptation has announced its premiere date as October 9, 2025 following the release of its second teaser trailer. The production team also announced that two new voice actors have joined the cast. Oreco Tachibana's Meiji-era romantic thriller story will thus meet audiences in the fall season.
The new teaser trailer showcases the story's atmosphere and the tense relationship between the main characters. Firefly Wedding follows the dangerous relationship developing between Satoko, the daughter of a noble family, and a dark assassin. Set in Meiji-era Japan, the series stands out for its narrative combining romance and suspense.
Oreco Tachibana is a manga artist best known for Kiss Him, Not Me! (Watashi ga Motete Dousunda). Tachibana, who gained a wide fanbase with that series, which received an anime adaptation in 2016, takes on a much darker and more mature story with Firefly Wedding. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan's Sho-Comic magazine since 2022 and has quickly become a work warmly received by readers.
With the newly announced voice cast, the series is already one of the most anticipated titles of the fall 2025 season. The anime will begin airing in Japan on October 9. International distribution licenses have not yet been announced, but as the premiere approaches, new trailers, character introductions, and platform announcements are expected. Firefly Wedding is poised to be one of the season's standout options for both manga fans and viewers who love romantic stories set in the Meiji period.
