Surprise Collaboration Between Gintama and Pui Pui Molcar: Gintoki Behind the Wheel!

Two extremes of the anime world, Gintama and Pui Pui Molcar, are here with an unexpected collaboration! Announced on April 16, 2026, this new pop-up shop event is preparing to offer fans exclusive merchandise from both series. The most striking visual of the collaboration is a special illustration depicting Gintoki Sakata driving his favorite Molcar character, Potato.
As part of this special event, limited-edition acrylic stands, badges, and custom-designed t-shirts will be available for sale. The combination of Gintama's absurd sense of humor and the innocent, cute world of Pui Pui Molcar has already created great excitement among collectors. The shop will offer fans of the series not only a shopping experience but also the opportunity to see these unique artworks up close.
Created by Hideaki Sorachi, Gintama has remained one of the most beloved works in the anime and manga world since 2003. Known for its parody talent and fourth-wall-breaking humor, the series continues to maintain its popularity through such collaborations, even though it has technically "ended." The wild collaborations Gintama has done with many different brands and series in the past have become a part of the series' spirit.
On the other side is Pui Pui Molcar, created by Tomoki Misato, which became a phenomenon in 2021. This short series, featuring felt stop-motion characters, won the hearts of both children and adults. How these cute creatures, a mix of guinea pigs and cars, would harmonize with the chaotic world of Gintama was a matter of curiosity; however, the first released visuals prove just how fun this harmony is.
Pop-up shop events like this are an integral part of anime culture in Japan and play a major role in keeping the fan community alive. For Gintama and Pui Pui Molcar fans, this event offers a great opportunity to satisfy their longing for the series. More details regarding the exact location of the shop and the product list are expected to be shared in the coming days.
