New Voice in Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! Anime: Yō Taichi to Voice Reiko Aokiyama

Syundei's popular manga Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! (Go for It, Nakamura!), which has a massive global fanbase, continues to make its mark on the spring season with its anime adaptation. The production team has officially announced the voice actress for a new and mysterious character joining the story. Experienced voice actress Yō Taichi will bring the character Reiko Aokiyama, president of the Occult and Horror Research Club, to life starting from the series' 4th episode. This unique character from Hoshimi High School will make her first appearance in the new episode airing on Wednesday, April 22nd.
Yō Taichi, who will voice the character, is a well-known and beloved name in the anime world. Having previously taken on key roles such as Kenya Kobayashi in ERASED, Akane Sawatari in Chainsaw Man, and Dorothy in Princess Principal, the artist will now bring Aokiyama's energy to the screen. As the president of the occult club, how Aokiyama will add a new dynamic to our main character Nakamura's already complicated high school life and his interactions with Hirose has already become a subject of curiosity among fans.
Since it first began serialization in Opera magazine in 2014, Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! has drawn attention for blending an 80s retro art style with a modern romantic comedy. The story follows Okuto Nakamura, a shy and clumsy high school student, and his platonic love for his classmate Aiki Hirose, as well as his hilarious efforts to communicate with him. Produced by studio Drive and directed by Aoi Umeki, the anime successfully preserves the manga's nostalgic atmosphere and visual language, receiving full marks from viewers.
The series, which is planned to consist of 13 episodes in total, becomes even more colorful as Nakamura's social circle expands. In the production, where names like Chiaki Kobayashi and Yuki Sakakihara share the lead roles, the inclusion of new side characters increases the rhythm of the story. Upcoming episodes will show whether we will see new obstacles or unexpected help in Nakamura's relationship with Hirose. New episodes of the series continue to meet international audiences every Wednesday on Crunchyroll.
