A New Voice for the Go for It, Nakamura! Anime: Shōya Chiba Joins the Cast as Arandō Tamura!

Exciting news has arrived for fans of Go for It, Nakamura! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!), one of the sweetest and most nostalgic productions of the spring season. Shōya Chiba, the successful voice actor who captured hearts with his roles as Shinei Nouzen in 86 and Kiyotaka Ayanokōji in Classroom of the Elite, has joined the anime's expanding cast. Chiba will bring to life the character Arandō Tamura, the energetic director and screenwriter of the Hoshimi High School drama and film club.
The character Arandō Tamura enters the story with his unique dramatic flair and passion for art. According to the official announcement, Arandō will make his first appearance in the 7th episode of the anime, which will air on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The series, which stars Chiaki Kobayashi as Okuto Nakamura and Yuki Sakakihara as Aiki Hirose, follows the platonic crush of a shy high school student on his classmate and the comedic mishaps he experiences along the way. Arandō, voiced by Chiba, is expected to act as a catalyst to help Nakamura come out of his shell.
The production team behind the anime is just as noteworthy as the voice cast. Produced by Studio Drive, the series is directed by Aoi Umeki, known for Pop Team Epic, who successfully reflects that famous 80s-90s retro vibe in the series' visual language. The original manga, created by Syundei, was first published in Opera magazine in 2014 and quickly gained a cult following. The anime, which premiered in April 2026, stands out not only for its story but also for its modern animation techniques that capture the aesthetics of that era.
